This is a dish I cook a few times a week. I often cook this as a side dish with dinner. But Brutus likes the leftovers for breakfast. So it does not stick around for long.
This dish comes from Pliny's Natural History. Here is how you make it.
Take 1.5 L of spring water and add 150 g of pearl barley. Add 1.5 tsp of flax seed and 2 tbsp of ground coriander (provides a nice nutty flavor). Then add 1 tsp of sea salt. Boil the whole thing for 45 min. Then serve hot.
