October 22, 2020 at 10:26 pm #40077I would like to put a plug out for the office of Quaestor.
For new citizens interested in learning how to lead like a Roman, it is a great place to start. It was traditionally the first office often sought in a political career. I have very fond memories of my time as a quaestor.

As Consul, I hereby declare this session of the Comitia Tributa open. To this effect, I made an offering of frankincense to Iupiter and Iuno. May they both smile upon the candidates who now come forward.
Please now announce your intention to stand as a candidate for Quaestor or Curule Aedile by replying to this message.

October 29, 2020 at 8:01 am #40153Salvete!
I would like to present myself as a candidate for the Questor office. I want to help the Republic and I look for a way to start doing so.
October 29, 2020 at 9:03 pm #40156Avete Quirites!
I would like to declare my candidacy for Quaestor.
I have been a citizen here for several years now. This year I assisted our Praetors in hosting the Ludi Romani. I had a lot of fun organizing our Chariot Dice game.
I would like to continue assisting our magistrates in a more formal capacity as Quaestor. I believe that my experience would be useful for the coming new magisterial team.
If any citizen has any questions, please send me a message! It would be an honor and privilege to discuss the year ahead.
I also encourage my fellow citizens to stand for office. How much progress is made in restoring Ancient Rome is often directly related to those volunteers that come forward to steer the noble ship of our respublica over their XII month terms.
October 29, 2020 at 9:47 pm #40157Salvete! I would like to present myself as a candidate for the Questor office. I want to help the Republic and I look for a way to start doing so.
I´m a new member of the comunity, and there is a lot I have yet to learn about how the Republic works and how it´s organised. But that´s why I present myself for the office of Quaestor, to start working with our more experience citizens and help create a richer comunity. I have always felt great pasion towards the Roman world and culture, yet I chose a career in media studies and advertasing, always regreating not following my humanistic core. I would feel honoured if you trust me with your vote to use my profesional skills and knowledge to the service of the Res Publica Romana, so that way I can unite my career with my calling.
If I were to be chosen, I would like to help the maintence of our public image and brand, the internal comunications, such as the newsletter, and the social media posts. I also feel I could put my experience in other issues that our Republic demands, or that other citizens might need to develop any ideas.
I realise that my lack of knowledge of this comunity might be a problem, but if I´m trusted with the Quaestor office I would work alongside our capable magisterial team and I would put my best to the service of the Res Publica. It´s a good way for me to start knowing all of you and joining the effort to restore the Roman Republic!

November 10, 2020 at 6:35 am #40254Salvete Quirites!
I would like to once again put on my virtual toga candida and stand before the civitas as a candidate for Curule Aedile.
I noticed the call for candidates put out by email today, and I feel compelled to assist.
My background:
I have been involved in Roman Cultural Restoration since 2000. I have spent my entire adult life as a cultor.
Standing as a candidate for Curule Aedile means I have come full circle in some ways. The first Roman office I held was Curule Aedile in 2001, within the precursor organization to this Roman Republic.
Since this time I have served as Consul, twice. I have also served as Censor. I am a senator of our Res Publica, and also a member of the Comitia Curiata. I was also one of the fifteen founders of this Roman Republic and authors of our Declaration.
My plans:
Outside of the expected responsibilities of the Aedile, I will have two additional plans if I hold this office.
First, this year’s Consules have started the process of launching an online marketplace where citizens can buy and sell goods through the Roman Republic. I have the background and experience to put into practice this plan. I believe the research being conducted this year has laid the foundation stones for active building of this marketplace in the year ahead. I would seek to coordinate with our other magistrates to put this plan into action. My goal would be to launch this marketplace with the support of the senate next year before my term ends.
Second, I will seek to raise the bar in our festivals (ludi). I have to commends the current Praetores for holding excellent games this year. They made raising this bar a lofty goal. But I believe it can be done through our new Discord platform and by moving to more face-to-face activity once the current pandemic resolves.
With this experience in hand, and with this plan before you, I hope to have the support of this Comitia Tributa in seeking the office of Curule Aedile.
May the gods smile upon all the candidates and our Res Publica!
Omnes valete!
P. Iunius Brutus

I confirm this count as reported by the Rogatore. I also extend my congratulations to the newly elected magistrates.
I ask the Praetores to update the rolls of our laws to reflect the now approved Lex Terentia: On the Collegium Pontificum its role and operations towards establishing Pax Deorum. I congratulate Praetor Ti. Terentius for his work in drafting the lex and seeing it through the senate and now comitia tributa this year.
Last, I would like to thank all those who participated in this assembly and voiced their opinion.
I now close this session IX of the comitia tributa!

Well done to everyone involved! There is an interesting team forming up for next year, and it is nice to see some fresh blood stepping up.
Also, it is excellent that Varro’s lex passed. If next year’s consules are able to put on their own tunic they should be able to form the Collegium Pontificum next year. That alone is worth celebrating!

January 6, 2021 at 6:35 pm #40674Salvete! I would like to apply for Quaestor, but I don’t know if I’m going to be able to, because election has finished already, but I was told that there were needed two more Quaestors so, I’ll like to start with some background.
Background:
Well, my background here is short. I joined almost half a year ago, but in that time I didn’t do much, mostly reading the core concepts of Roman Republic… That was until some time ago, when I decided to reach to the people of my province, Hispania, to see what we could do here.
But there’s even more background before that, obviously. I always loved since I was little the ancient romans, the fact that they were able to build a civilization that was that syncretic, with technology that other civilizations after it would forget, was something that amazed me. I’ve been always a fan of history, so ancient greece, rome and egypt was something that I liked. I found RR after trying to found myself a hellenist branch in Hispania, because after knowing that there were still people keeping the cult of ancient deities from these civilizations, I wanted to know more and help it.
My plans:
I don’t truly know. I know that I want to learn more about the Cultus Deorum and roman values in general that are present in this organization, and that I want to help to establish the Hispania province as something not only in name, but something that has at least some organization itself. I’ve already made some suggestions to help improve this organization, but I’m a bit idealist with what I suggest sometimes because I tend to daydream, so take what I suggest with a grain of salt.
I know that it’s not a lot, but I hope I can help anyways!
