AVES ADMITTUNT for CALLING THE CONCILLIUM PLEBIS on this day of XIII Kal. Nov. Sex. Decio Q. Furio Cos.
October 21, 2020 at 8:36 pm #40068With favorable auspices the Concilium Plebis is hereby in order.
Any citizen that wishes to stand as a candidate for (I) Tribune or (II) Plebeian Aedile is now asked to post their intention here with any statement.
The call for candidates will end on November 2.
October 21, 2020 at 11:42 pm #40069I, Quintus Galerius Iulianus. Hereby announce my candidacy for Plebeian Tribune. I vow to uphold all citizens rights, defend my fellow plebians who feel they are being treated unjustly. To be vigilant and fair while voicing my opinion with the senate. Finally to strive to work together with all members of the Roman Republic to help bring us forward onto the next step in our path! May the capitoline triad watch over all of you.
October 22, 2020 at 7:28 am #40072I humbly put my name forward for plebeian tribune.
I am a newer citizen, but it is clear that immense and impressive work has occurred this year to bring the Roman Republic back from the brink. The success of this work is due to both the excellent magistrates this year, and due to the people, the citizens, being heard.
As plebeian tribune, I will work to make sure that the collective voice of the civitas is put front and center. I will push our new magistrates to continue the excellent work done this year and to further the beautiful missions of this Res Publica!
October 22, 2020 at 10:33 pm #40078Lovely to see great candidates for the office of Tribune coming forward. It is one of the most important offices in the Respublica and helps to insure the people are heard and respected.
Another very important office from the perspective of developing our community, honoring pax deorum and developing culture, is the Plebeian Aedile.
I urge citizens to consider running for Plebeian Aedile!
November 2, 2020 at 11:56 am #40173Salvete citizens,
Like many, I hoped someone would apply for the position of Plebeian Aedile but it seems nobody is interested… So, I stand today as a candidat.
I have a tiny little experience with organizing ludis. In 2018, I was plebeian tribune and I organized the ludi florae (if I can recall, the only ludi which occured in 2018).
If I’m elected, I will do my best to entertain our fellow citizens and organize ludis for all.
There will be of course theater and poetry competitions but also a lot of other contests and games open to the non native english speaking people as well. Like photo or drawing contests. It would be also nice if reenactors could somehow participate to a contest. I don’t know how yet but I will think about this…
We will carry on with chariot races but I will simplify their rules (at least the explanations !). Last time, someone from Sarmatia complained that the rules were not that understandable and it shouldn’t happen again.
I will also work on a new gladiator game and hopefully organize combats during the year…
Thanks for reading.
Valete

i wish to announce my candidacy for Plebian Aedile.
In these unprecedented times the Republic needs volunteers who are very confident with social media and online activities. I believe that I could be that person. My knowledge of the classical period should help in the organisation of enjoyable and engaging activities.

November 13, 2020 at 12:52 am #40289Salvete Omnes!
According to this lex http://romanrepublic.org/roma/wp-content/uploads/2019/07/CCu-On-the-election-procedure-involving-Rogatores-and-Custodes-2.pdf all elections need a rogatore elected or appointed to confirm the ballot count.
It appears that if such a rogatore is not elected then the censores are to appoint one. Considering the consuls hold the powers of the censors this year, I ask them to appoint a rogatore for we can proceed with the counting of ballots on November 15 once polls close.
Would any citizen be willing to volunteer to assist in this task as serving as a rogatore?
Thank you.

And a mighty congratulations to Paulus Aemilius Gallus on his election to Aedile! Let us continue to work together and keep moving our wonderful republic forward!
November 17, 2020 at 8:46 pm #40330I also wish to extend my thanks to all who voted and the current magistrates who have all performed their duties above and beyond!
November 17, 2020 at 8:56 pm #40331AVETE OMNES!
I confirm my agreement with the results as reported by Rogatore, Servia Curia!
In making this report, I also recognize this is likely my last act as Plebeian Tribune. My term ends on December 10. I have enjoyed serving our civitas and our plebeian order more than I expected. The Roman Republic is truly special. Today it is like embers upon kindling. It requires care and encouragement, but within these hot coals is mighty potential that dwarfs us all. I hope Tribunes-elect Q. Galerius and Ap. Claudia and Aedile-elect Paul. Aemilius find success in tending to the young and growing flames of the plebeians of Rome!
Congratulations to you all!
To candidate N. Volumnius, I do hope you stand again as a candidate for Quaestor. I am told we will be electing two more early in the new year. Your enthusiasm and desire to serve our Respublica is needed. It would be a darn shame to lose your talent. Please consider!
The Concilium Plebis is dismissed. Gloria in plebe!
November 17, 2020 at 9:22 pm #40336Congratulations to you all! Thank you for offering your names to help further our Res Publica. I hope this is the start of a very successful year and your further progression along the cursus honorum.
November 17, 2020 at 10:33 pm #40337Thanks all for your votes and for placing your trust in me.
Congratulations to you too Iulianus and Hemina!
I would like to thank also Gemina for her commitment as rogatore.
November 19, 2020 at 2:36 am #40339Thank you to those tribes that supported me. Congratulations to P. Aemilius on being elected. I will look for another opportunity to serve in the future.
