So here is a question I have. Do you think Romulus was a virtuous man? How do we explain Romulus in the context of Roman virtue and sense of self?

I think we must judge the qualities of a man based on the standards of their time. By 21st century principles or by Christian principles, no Romulus is not a virtuous man. But based on archaic principles of 700 BCE Italy I think Romulus was righteous. He gathered up outcasts from around the land. He provided them a home. He provided for his community. He was a monarch that was not a tyrant to his people. He fought against his step-father who was unjust.

Romulus was a moral man by the old Italian standards of the age in which he lived.
