A feast day for Minerva. Her temple became a centre for a guild of writers and actors and perhaps also of skilled craftsmen since Minerva was a patroness of the crafts as well as of the arts. Ovid poetically appeals to a wide variety of people to pray to her; boys and girls to become learned; girls to gain skill in spinning and weaving; fullers, dyers and cobblers to ply their craft, doctors, schoolmasters, sculptors and painters to sacrifice to her.
