After speaking with our two active maior magistrates, Praetor Catullus and Censor Varro, I am activating Lex Aurelia which allows for our Consules and Praetores to be temporarily replaced. I am issuing this declaration as a Lictor Curiatus Magister (Director of Roman Republic Inc.). The hope is that this facilitates smooth elections and regular activity form our leadership for the remainder of the year.
I have been informed that both our lone active Censor and Praetor do not feel they have the ability to carry out more than one office simultaneously.
Therefore, as of today;
Praetor Sp. Gallonius Catulus is now PRAETOR WITH CONSULAR POWERS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Aedile Paul. Aemilius Gallus is now an AEDILE WITH PRAETORIAL POWERS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Aedile P. Iunius Brutus is now an AEDILE WITH PRAETORIAL POWERS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
I also ask that our Quaestores, M. Livius Horatius, and F. Claudius Milo assume the duties of the Curule Aedile under the direction of Aedile P. Iunius Brutus. And that Quaestores Ti. Iulius Carus and Oct. Marius Bestia assume the duties of the Plebeian Aedile under direction of Paul. Aemilius Gallus.
This arrangement will remain active until a Lictor Curiatus Magister annuls it publicly or until the office for which the magistrate named was originally elected expires.
