As times look brighter every day with vaccinations and slowly improving conditions, we might in the near future be in a position to start our local provincial development. As such, it is important we work together to develop a strategy for this and give continuous feedback and reports about our own progress. What is the best way to recruit locally? What activities can we offer? How can we reach out? These questions and many more are those which we have to ask ourselves, but also help each other to answer. I’m proposing we all come together every once in a while and brainstorm potential strategies and tools to reach out, create a lively local community and a flourishing province.
Seeing as most Procurators, if not all, have Discord, we can easily communicate using this platform. Ideally, we could meet a few times every month and discuss ideas and suggestions. This would not only create a space for creative discussion, but also inspiration and accountability to fellow colleagues of the republic.
What have I done?
As procurator of Scandia, I have started sowing the seeds of the province by reaching out locally. I am in the process of putting up posters around my city as well as maintaining an Instagram page with decent activity. In addition to this, I am also developing the framework for a Roman-themed exercise group for marching and endurance. I will post a tutorial here later about how you can create your poster as well, only using Google Docs!
Set dates vs Spontaneity
I believe set dates for coming together is much more ideal than spontaneously discussing with large intervals of time between conversations is optimal!
Does anyone have thoughts? Suggestions? Questions? Don’t hesitate to reply!
