Severus Sen. sal.,
After reading the two topics below, I decided to share my thoughts with fellow citizens regarding the current state of affairs:
The current state of affairs can be called a dead end. This is another impasse in which the Republic found itself, because once again it was unable to learn from previous mistakes.
Why am I writing about this now? Because almost half a year has passed since the moment when the inaction of key persons led to the disruption of the construction of the Sacra Publica, losses, and later connivance, and completely illegal actions led to the violation of the legitimate rights and interests of individual citizens (Celsus and Crassus) and the virtual cessation of activities in Republic of the only really active community in the Republic – the province of Sarmatia.
As we know from the history of the activities of the organizations of Roman Revivalism, the end of the year is the time of the greatest activity, because it is the time of the elections. Even organizations where activity is very bad, and in those there is a surge of activity, which is present for one more, two months in the new year. What do we see now? We see a complete political and electoral disgrace, because there are not even candidates to fill the highest magistracy. The Sarmatians were reproached for the fact that last year we took two higher master’s degrees, now these reproaches look ridiculous, if only because no one needs these magistracy for free.
Interestingly, no one asks the question, why did this happen?
Six months ago, due to frankly stupid and short-sighted actions of those in power, Sarmatia ceased its activities in the Republic. What do you think, how many live meetings have taken place since that moment, new projects have been put into operation, Sacra Public facilities have been built, etc.? I will answer you – not a single one, nothing significant has happened in six months. Sometimes it seems to me that individual citizens in the Republic adhere to the following logic: I am not going to do anything, but I will not let others do anything either. The Sarmatian community is the only community that did something in real life, Sarmatia left, and all real activity ended. The funny thing is, without our individual persons who grumbled on the forum, even the number of posts has sharply decreased, not a single post may be written in a week.
The republic has turned into a focus of apathy, lack of real activity, indifference to important projects, and the dominance of lawlessness caused by irresponsibility and impunity for illegal actions. Therefore, Sarmatia left, and what is a Republic without its only active community? This is what we see now – a mockery and a disgrace among the organizations of Roman Revivalism.
Who will be responsible for this? As always no one. Further we will see the next lengthy reasoning of Brutus, the sluggish reaction of a couple of regulars and everything, everything is as always. What is the bottom line? Only that all this destroys the future and prospects of the Republic.
The funny thing is that we have an excellent community, as time shows we live well without the Republic, and we see how the Republic lives without us. We warned everyone, however, as always, no one listened to us, because the Republic is reaping what it sowed before. Even when the crisis in the Republic was obvious, no one contacted us, although we are always open to dialogue. I think that even now no one will draw the proper conclusions. If someone thinks that something can be corrected by convening comitia, then this looks funny and outrageously naive. An initiative “from above” will never solve the problem of mass indifference and lack of activity “from below”, in order to solve this problem, it is necessary to negotiate with communities … that is, with the very only community with which those in power behaved so indifferently, illegally and dismissively.January 14, 2022 at 11:33 am #42315

I want to thank you for your honesty, it really made me realise that I’d let myself slip into apathy and get caught up with work, university and personal life without even really thinking of the Republic. And for that, I truly do apologise and endeavour to do more in the future.
I’ll do what I can to help things move forward, I don’t think I’m up to the task of an electoral role (that’s a lot of responsibility for someone as inexperienced as I am) but I’m more than willing to help the Republic as much as I can.
Something does need to be done to jump start the heart of the Republic once more. I hadn’t realised just how long it had been. Sarmatia was one of the biggest backbones of the Republic and, as you stated, you can really feel the void.
Are there any plans in the works or are we currently sat with a blank slate?

Thank you for the explanation. Though you shouldn’t mistake silence for apathy.
