Announcing a History Contest – Ludi Rei Publicae
I have been authorized by the Comitia Curiata of the Roman Republic (romanrepublic.org) to administer a history contest as part of the Ludi Rei Publicae in commemoration of the publication and signing of their Declaration. Note that this contest is open to everyone. Membership in any organization is not required. To participate simply register by responding to this notice or by sending an email to the address given below.
Here are the rules and procedures for this history contest:
There will be four short sets of questions, worth a total of 40 points, posted at 4:00 p.m. Eastern Daylight Time on March 21st, 23rd, 25th, and 27th. The questions will be posed in English but may be answered in any language. The answers to any set of questions may be submitted until 4:00 p.m. EDT, on March 29th. One bonus point will be awarded for any set of answers submitted prior to the posting of the subsequent set of questions. A total of 3 bonus points are available.
Anyone who by accident posts answers publicly will be disqualified from winning a prize.:
Answers will be posted and prize-winners announced as soon as possible after 4:00 p.m. EDT on March 29th.
PRIZES: Genuine decent-quality and identifiable Roman coins will be awarded to those with the top three scores.
