    Salvete Omnes,

I wrote this simplified guide to help you, my friends, pray to the gods of Rome so that they may grant you their patronage, love, and light.

As the first step to praying to these gods, I will be instructing you on how-to pray and each basic step involved. This is a very simple guide intended for beginners who want instructions on how to pray, but don’t know where or how- to start. All the prayers included in this guide have been simplified so it is easier for beginners.

Romans, enjoy, and may the gods of Rome be with you!

This is an excellent guide, very simple and beginner friendly. As an orthopedic religion, the best way to get started is to make offerings, ask for forgiveness for your mistakes with an additional offering, and improve as you learn.

Using the format you’ve given us, I pieced together the following prayer to Hercules:

    O Mighty Hercules,
    Cudgel-bearer, Beast-slayer,
    Lion-Mantled, Far-traveled,
    Vanquisher, Averter,
    Breaker of Obstacles,
    Friend of Humanity,
    Champion of Men,
    Mover of Mountains,
    Strength unbridled and renowned,
    Hercules Custos, Hercules Averruncus,
    Hercules Victor, Hercules Invictus,
Known as Heracles to the Greeks,
    Magusanus to the Germans,
    Ercol to the Anglo-Saxons,
Or by any other name you prefer.

    I welcome you.
I ask you to look down with favor upon me.
I ask you for your blessing.
In return, I give thanks with prayers and offerings.

    Hercules,
You have been kind to me.
You motivate to be better in my life.
You instill in me a desire to live the virtues,
    Especially Constantia and Salubritas.
You have blessed me with a sound mind and body
And the means to strengthen them both.

    O Great Hercules,
I approach you kindly asking for your assistance.
Grant that I should know success and well-being,
That I might hone my body and my mind.
May my health and strength increase
    As I draw inspiration from
    Your deeds and your prowess.
Strike down obstacles with your mighty cudgel.
    Clear my path to victory
    And my path to betterment.
Share a portion of your power with me
    If you think me worthy.
In return I will give thanks
    For your great blessings.

    Hercules,
    Through prayer and sacrifice
I give you an offering of [offering]
    In recognition of your blessings
To me and towards the petition made.
    Though humble it may be,
I hope it might please and honor you,
And that through it you may be increased.
I give so that you might give.
    Hercules, macte esto.
